HER BLACK VOICE III - Coming in 2025!!
Noa Sanaa is a teen poet, author, and spoken word artist from Sacramento, CA. She published her first book of poetry, “Her Black Voice: I’m Not Done Talking” at the age of fourteen. Less than a year later, her second book, “Her Black Voice II: Ban My Book, But You Can’t Ban My Voice” was released.
Noa is a member of the SAYS (Sacramento Area Youth Speaks) Poetry Slam Team. Noa Sanaa had a significant role in contributing to the team’s success of placing 4thin the country at the 2023 Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam Competition. During the 2024 Sacramento Poetry Slam Finals she placed first securing her spot for a second year on the team.
Noa is a member of the Teen Advisory Board at the North Natomas Library where she helps to build connections between the library and the community. She is also a student leader on the Natomas Unified School District’s CEI (Community Engagement Initiative) Team where she can voice her concerns and ideas to increase engagement and connection between families and schools in the district. She is also member of the district’s Student Voice Advisory Council as well as student mentor at her high school.
Noa Sanaa was featured as a special guest at the 2024 TedxKids event in El Cajon, CA. Her talents were honored and recognized not only by the City of El Cajon and Mayor, but also by the County of San Diego and County Supervisor. Noa was also honored by the Council of Elders Metro Sacramento with the Youth on Fire Award for her vision, brilliance and creative genius aimed at increasing unity, safety, productivity and abundance in her community.

Noa Sanaa is an amazingly talented teen writer and advocate of justice and equality, women’s rights, and mental health awareness for those who do not have a voice. She started the Poetic Justice Freedom Writing Workshops in 2023 to give back to her community. The workshops are intended to inspire young minds to freely express themselves through the art of poetry in hopes that they will find their own voice and build confidence within themselves.
